Kearny Groundbreaking
Date Set for Kearny Groundbreaking!
Join us for our most exciting event yet!
At 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, the City of Raton and El Raton Media Works will host a special groundbreaking ceremony to kick off construction of a new Film, Media, and Technology Training Center—a regional hub for creative workforce development.
The project is part of Raton’s broader effort to diversify the local economy and create high-wage pathways in film and emerging media production, coding, digital storytelling, and technical training.
The celebration will include:
Remarks from city and project leaders
Live music from Raton 3, featuring Debora Iyall, lead vocalist of the renowned band Romeo Void
A special appearance by George Tomsco of the legendary band The Fireballs
Food and refreshments
“This project is more than just a building—it’s a launchpad for the next generation of creators, coders, and creative entrepreneurs," said Ann Theis, Director of El Raton Media Works. “We’re proud to build it in the heart of a community that believes in innovation and collaboration.”

EVENT RECAP: TV & Movie Board Game Night
Game Night was a Blast!
The Movie & TV Themed Board Game Night was a fun-filled event that took place on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The evening was dedicated to rolling the dice and stepping into attendees' favorite cinematic worlds through a variety of movie and TV-themed board games. Teams went up against each other in Scene It! Movie edition and Big Trouble in Little Hollywood board games and took home awesome prizes!
The event, which was free and open to all, offered a chance for people to play and compete with friends, discover new games, and put their pop culture knowledge to the test. Reception was great and we'll host another soon!

Casa Lemus
One of our favorite places in Raton, Casa Lemus is always friendly, yummy, and they are gracious to allow us to host events in their banquet room including last month's Game Night! Stop in and have one of their delicious burritos and experience why Casa Lemus has been a longtime staple for locals and guests alike.
